Air flow meter is an integral component found on most modern vehicle’s electronic fuel injection system. It is located between the air filter and the intake manifold of the engine in a plastic housing. The AF meter is used to measure the amount of air flowing into the vehicle’s intake. It also delivers the air mass information required for the ECU to control the operations and deliver the correct fuel mass to the engine.

The hot-wire meter is mounted directly in an air intake system in the form of a heated thin wire. Vane meters consist of a spring-loaded paddle in the engine’s air intake.
