1) Mazda Recalls CX-5 for Airbags:
Mazda Automobiles has recently recalled an estimated of 682 2018 Mazda CX-5 vehicles due to Airbag installation issue. This is a manufacturing issue because some side curtain airbags may not correctly unfold during deployment. In the event of a crash where the curtain airbag deploys during a rollover event, which can lead to a high possibility of injury to vehicle occupants.
2) GM Holden Ltd has recalled MY 2013 Holden Volt
GM Holden Ltd Australia has recently recalled Holden Volt manufactured the year 2013 due to battery low cell voltage defect. Due to this defect low cell voltage condition in the battery pack may lead the vehicle to face a low power or not to start an issue. A warning light will be shown on the instrument cluster advising that propulsion power is reduced. While driving, if this condition occurs, it may potentially pose an accident hazard to the vehicle occupant and other vehicles on the road.
3) Subaru Australia has recalled Subaru Liberty/Outback & Subaru Impreza vehicles
Subaru Pty Ltd. Australia has recently recalled their promising models Subaru Liberty/Outback built between 2004 to 09 and Subaru Imprez Vehicles made between 2008 to 2010 due to the fuel pump issue. The main problem with these vehicles is Fuel Pump. Over a period, fuel pump harness connector on affected vehicles may deteriorate. Due to this issue, the fuel pump will become non-functional, that will cause extended engine cranking time on startup. A stalled engine will increase risk of driver safety as well as leads to compromise the overall performance of a vehicle.
4) In QLD & NT, GM Holden Ltd has recalled a series of vehicles:
In their recent recall, GM Holden Australia has issued a recall notice for MY 2013 Holden Trax, Holden Barina 2012-2013 and Holden Cruze 2010-2013 due to Takata Airbag defect. A combination of high temperature and humidity can cause the airbag inflator propellant to degrade. If an affected vehicle is involved in a collision triggering the airbag, the metal inflator housing may explode/rupture under too much internal pressure. This might cause severe injury or fatality to a vehicle occupant.
To overcome this issue, vehicle owners need to contact their local dealership for quick inspection and replacement of Airbags (if any point found).
5) FCA Australia Recalled Dodge Journey & Fiat Freemont
FCA Australia Pty Ltd has recently issued a recall notice for Dodge Journey (JC) built the year 2014-16, and Fiat Freemont (JF) made the year 2014-2016. The main reason for the recall is a faulty control module could cause the cruise control to malfunction. The manufacturer reports that the software for the Power Control Module is defective, which could lead the vehicle speed to lock or accelerate unexpectedly when cruise control is engaged. With this defect, if the driver doesn’t shift to neutral or apply the brakes to stop the vehicle this condition can cause a vehicle crash without warning.
6) FCA Australia Recalled (LX) Chrysler 300 & (WK) Jeep Grand Cherokee built the year 2014 to 2018

The main reason for the recall is a faulty control module could cause the cruise control to malfunction. 7) IVECO Trucks Australia recalled Acco Trucks
Vehicles were manufactured with front axles that do not have the correct width requirements. Cars that do not have the right axle width are non-compliant with the Australian Design Rules (ADR).
8) Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled Sprinter Vans
Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled Sprinter Vans due to some manufacturing issue. Some spot welds on the front side wall joining the door frame with the hinge reinforcements may not have been applied. This may affect the driver’s side and/or the front passenger side of the van. This defect may lead to safety compromise for driver’s side person and/or passenger side of the vehicle. There may be a risk of injury in the event if an accident.

1.) Volkswagen Network will develop Autonomous Vehicle Data Standards
Volkswagen Group of America has announced a working group who will work to develop technical standards for improving the way data transmission in a vehicle, and it will enable fully autonomous cars. Including Volkswagen, four large automotive suppliers Aquantia Corp., Robert Bosch GmbH, Continental AG and Nvidia has formed the group that will focus on “the next generation of Multi-Gig Ethernet networking” in Vehicles.
