Even though you rarely see them, driveshafts and CV joints are vital to how your car drives:

• Driveshafts: These connect the transmission to the wheels, carrying the engine’s power so your car can move. In rear-wheel-drive cars, driveshafts—often called tail shafts—link the transmission to the differential. Universal joints or rubber couplings at each end let the shaft move with the suspension, keeping your drive smooth.
• CV Joints (Constant Velocity Joints): CV joints are used in front-wheel-drive cars and in vehicles with independent rear suspension. They let a spinning shaft transmit power at different angles while keeping the rotation smooth and even. This makes sure your wheels get steady power, even when turning or driving over bumps.
